Senior Category Space Planner 40k to 45k

The Senior Category Space Planner, Reporting to the Group Head of Procurement, will work on brand development and will partner with the merchandising team to give strategic direction, sets objectives, drive change and monitors results, as well as build a close link between regions, retail, e-com and head office to fulfill consumer needs by creating the framework for profitable assortments.

Tasks and Responsibilities

DRIVE brand and product KPIs to increase profitability and efficiency

STRENGTHEN consumer brand and product experience by incorporating consumer insights into assortment building while at the same time creating merchandising plans

REVIEW EPOS data and other market information to devise strategies that grow the business

DECIDE on store space allocations and plan product/collection initiatives to attract, connect & engage the consumer

MANAGE store planaograms, monitor and assess category management implementation and make recommendations to increase profitability

FACILITATE cross-divisional communication and alignment to ensure clarity to end consumers and work collaboratively with Retail Buyer and Marketing Manager

The Ideal Candidate

  • Highly analytical and commercially focused with ability to analyse EPOS sales and margin data and use same to inform decisions on stock ranging and planograms
  • Minimum 2 years experience in category space planning / merchandising role
  • Experience using macro space planning software tools (e.g. Spaceman) and Microsoft Office essential
  • Flexibility to work in a fast moving and creative environment
  • Proficiency at Microsoft RMS EPOS an advantage
