Are you a mechanical or electrical engineer / technician with solid, hands-on experience in large industrial or power generation plant?
We're partnering with a major energy operator to appoint an experienced Plant Operations Instructor, responsible for training and developing power plant operators across Ireland.
The role:
Deliver training on large-scale power plant systems (classroom and on-site)
Cover gas turbines, steam turbines and associated balance-of-plant systems
Assess operator competence and support skills development
Hybrid working, with planned travel to generation sites
Essential background (must-haves):
Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification OR a completed electrical/instrumentation apprenticeship
5+ years' hands-on experience in power generation or heavy industrial plant operations
Strong working knowledge of large rotating plant (turbines, generators, auxiliaries)
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, manuals and technical drawings
Full driving licence and willingness to travel within Ireland
Confident communicator able to explain complex systems in practical terms
Desirable (not essential):
Experience on CCGT / OCGT / large thermal plant
Exposure to OEM equipment (Siemens, GE, Alstom or similar)
Background in maritime, offshore, or heavy process industries
