A leading global technology research organisation is seeking a Computational Linguist to support advanced research in multilingual AI and language technologies.
You will join a highly respected research team working on projects involving machine translation, speech technologies (ASR/TTS), and large language models, contributing linguistic expertise to improve how AI systems understand and generate human language across multiple languages.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse AI model outputs to identify linguistic error patterns and quality issues
Perform linguistic analysis on large multilingual datasets
Develop annotation guidelines and evaluation frameworks for language AI systems
Support research across machine translation, speech technologies and LLM-based translation
Conduct linguistic research including typology, sociolinguistics and corpus analysis
Collaborate closely with research scientists, engineers and language experts
Requirements
Master's or PhD in Linguistics or a related field
Strong theoretical grounding in syntax, morphology, sociolinguistics and language typology
Native or near-native proficiency in Hindi or another major Indian language, with knowledge of Indo-Aryan or Dravidian languages
Programming skills in Python and ability to work with data (SQL or similar)
Exposure to Natural Language Processing or language AI systems
Strong research communication and analytical skills
