Area Sales Manager - Leinster (Foodservice / Wholesale)
€50,000-€55,000 + bonus + company vehicle

Are you a foodservice sales pro who actually enjoys being on the road and in front of customers - not stuck in spreadsheets all day? This could be a nice one for you.

I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established Irish food business that supplies a wide range of frozen and chilled products into the foodservice and retail sectors across Ireland, the UK and Europe. They partner with leading wholesalers and have built their reputation on service, product quality and local sales support.

They're now hiring an Area Sales Manager for Leinster to manage and grow business through a network of c.15 wholesale partners.

The role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Managing and developing relationships with a defined panel of wholesalers across Leinster

  • Driving volume, margin and distribution of key SKUs within those existing wholesale accounts

  • Identifying growth opportunities within each depot and working with their sales teams to win more share in:

    • Fast food

    • Independent restaurants

    • Cafés, forecourts and general catering

  • Introducing and supporting new product lines - ensuring they're listed, stocked and actively sold through

  • Planning and running depot days, tastings, product demos and promotions with the wholesale sales teams

  • Negotiating pricing, promotional activity and space, working closely with your Commercial Manager

  • Reporting on performance, pipeline and competitor activity in your territory

Field-based, you'll manage your own diary with 1-2 days per week in the Dublin office for team meetings and planning.

About you

We're looking for:

  • Proven field sales experience - essential

  • Background in foodservice / catering / hospitality sales (or strong exposure to that customer base)

  • Experience working with wholesalers or selling through the wholesale channel - strongly preferred

  • Strong commercial skills - comfortable talking price, margin, distribution and promotional spend

  • A relationship-builder who can influence depot managers and motivate van sales / telesales teams

  • Full, clean driving licence and happy to travel across Leinster on a daily basis

If you're currently an Account Manager / Territory Manager in foodservice or wholesale and you enjoy growing existing accounts rather than pure cold new business, this is very much in that space.
