Accounts Assistant

Based in Ennis, Co. Clare we now wish to recruit the following for an immediate start:
Role: Accounts Assistant
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Assistant will work within the Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly and weekly payroll; accounts payables and receivables; and budgets
Duties include:
- Processing monthly & weekly payroll using Sage Micropay Professional, tracking staff hours, calculating holiday pay, creating new staff profiles, dealing with HR, tax, and employment queries
- Processing euro & foreign currency receipts and payments
- Creating and submitting VAT returns
- Monthly report reconciliations, investigation and resolving any variances
- Budget preparations and cost analysis
- Producing financial reports as and when requested by Senior Management
Minimum Requirements:
- Certification or Degree in Accounting or business is desirable
- Accountancy or Payroll qualification (or part-qualified)
- Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience
- Financial management skills, including strong numerical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance
- Competent person, capable of working under their own initiative with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting packages required; experience in Sage Micropay Professional software preferred
