Based in Ennis, Co. Clare we now wish to recruit the following for an immediate start:

Role: Accounts Assistant

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Assistant will work within the Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly and weekly payroll; accounts payables and receivables; and budgets

Duties include:

  • Processing monthly & weekly payroll using Sage Micropay Professional, tracking staff hours, calculating holiday pay, creating new staff profiles, dealing with HR, tax, and employment queries
  • Processing euro & foreign currency receipts and payments
  • Creating and submitting VAT returns
  • Monthly report reconciliations, investigation and resolving any variances
  • Budget preparations and cost analysis
  • Producing financial reports as and when requested by Senior Management

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification or Degree in Accounting or business is desirable
  • Accountancy or Payroll qualification (or part-qualified)
  • Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience
  • Financial management skills, including strong numerical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance
  • Competent person, capable of working under their own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting packages required; experience in Sage Micropay Professional software preferred
