Vitalograph is the world's leading manufacturer of medical Spirometers,used in the diagnosis of respiratory disorders, and advanced high-reliability software systems used in clinical drug trials. Based in Ennis, Co. Clare for over 40 years, we now wish to recruit for a full-time role.

Supplier Quality Engineer - SQE
Vitalograph are currently looking for a full-time Supplier Quality Engineer-SQE, reporting to the RA/QA Manager, to support the quality function in improving the effectiveness of the Supplier Quality System, leading operational projects where needed, and continuous improvement activity to reduce process variation, eliminate non-value added activity. Training will be provided to bring the successful candidate up to the required level.

Duties will include:

  • Liaising with departments to investigate and resolve supplier quality related issues.{Travel to supplier/customer premises may be required.}
  • Maintenance of supplier files.
  • Performing supplier quality audits.
  • Monitoring and reporting on supplier operational and quality performance
  • Liaising with suppliers for non-conformance resolution.
  • Investigating customer complaints, non-conformances and deviations
  • Implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs)
  • Developing and executing Supplier Improvement Plans (SIPs)
  • Generating product concessions and rework instructions.
  • Maintenance of the Approved Vendor List and audit schedules.
  • Developing a proficiency in using eQMS software's and processes.
  • Update QMS documentation as required.
  • Supporting product registrations including preparation of submissions.
  • Providing on-going communication through metric and reports.
  • Participate and support onsite regulatory and customer audits.
  • Other duties as requested.


  • Honours third level qualification (level 8) in a relevant science or engineering discipline is essential
  • 2-3 years' relevant experience in a similar role within the healthcare sector is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given
  • Skilled in problem solving, analysing information, reporting, and promoting process improvement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Project.
  • Good working knowledge of statistics including use of statistical tools.
  • Ability to write and maintain SOPs is essential
